When you’re healing, you know how up and down and back and forth it can be. You learn that it is a journey. That it is really up to you. That no doctor or medication is actually going to make you heal. It will help manage symptoms, but not heal. So we adjust to find things that do work, that make the overall day-to-day better. For me right now, it’s food. What I am putting into my body directly corresponds to how I feel. This has been a LONG journey for me. I never wanted to admit that what I consumed was a direct correlation to how I felt. But learning lesson after lesson after lesson after lesson, and still learning… it’s just so true.
I’ve been exploring Ayurveda for over a year now. In my sloth-like way, I’ve been incorporating Ayurveda into my life. I practice tongue scraping first thing in the morning. I also do sesame oil massages and incorporate specific foods and spices into my diet. But like everything I do, it’s been a slow road. And that’s okay. Slow is good. Slow lets us notice, see how we feel, and where we need to adjust. Slow is not bad. That is also a lesson I’ve been learning over and over again too.
